How to stay up-to-date with music from your country even if you've lived in the USA for 10 years What's your story? I am an 18-year-old Russki man who emigrated to America in search of an improved life. In Russia I was not prosperous. I was poor. My family was not my own per se. As a child in Russia and the Soviet Union, young adults did not have money. Therefore, we were forced to look for other ways to earn money. There were a variety of strategies. The majority of them looked like drunks asking their friends for some money to purchase their vodka bottles. The idea is similar as we'd look for ways to earn minutes to buy a loaf of bread. We always had food cravings.
So I got to America. There's nothing as beautiful as New York City, Brooklyn, Brighton Beach. This place reminds me much of home. It's noisy and dirty the people are rude and full of Russian speech. There are many Russian restaurants, music stores and book stores that I have paid a fair amount of money at.
I am a music lover as much as I like reading books. But as it happens recently it's easy to locate Russian literature on Kindle. So I stopped buying hard-copy books. My wife, who's an over-stufferer has a small space in her home, and I try to stay clear of buying unnecessary things. Stacks of books looks intelligent in the beginning, but afterwards they just looked sad, until I moved them into the garage, which has enough space for my belongings..
Music is another matter. Because I drive a lot and work in a car, it is essential that I listen to a lot of music. Being a Russian native, it's difficult for me to enjoy the music I find in America. I'm not a fan of hip-hop, rap or rock, metal, or pop. and all the trendy music that children love to dance to. I really love old Russian music, also the songs from jail that are especially suited to Russian music culture. They're still very popular in Russia , even after twenty years. Youtube has everything these days. YouTube is my preferred music website. I am on it all the time, whether I am at home or working.
After a while, I created a playlist of more than 300 songs I truly love. Because I have this treasure that I have, I am able to easily become accustomed to music. 300 songs is quite a lot. But, when I need to listen to them while driving, I do not have internet access. I require it for navigation and driving. I do the preparations at home. I'm in the middle now. I take a few recordings on Youtube, then I convert those mp3s to MP3 files using my laptop. Finally, I take the CD with me to my car, and listen. It can also take a Youtube playlist to print the songs. listentoyoutube Each song is transformed into MP3 and then stored on my computer. Once you have it, you can easily transfer the files to an audio-CD. Sometimes, I'm a mess and make a data CD. It will not play on the old stereo in my car. When audio is recorded, it's amazing how technology works. I don't have to be connected to the internet and I don't require any gadgets to play mp3, I just insert CD into my car stereo and here the music from Russia is playing in the middle of Manhattan, when I get there as I drive around.
It's simple and cheap to save videos from Youtube in MP3 format. Then you can download them to your Smartphone. One of my acquaintances connected his phone to his car stereo. The music was playing with excellent audio quality in less than 2 seconds. It was also possible to stream Spotify and Pandora radio, so you don't need too much internet. I'm thinking this could be the next thing I'll test. However, I'll be careful when using free wifi.
